Idea

First Idea

My first idea was to create an hour long horror game that continues the style of the Atmosfear VHS tapes. This is where an actor dresses up as an iconic character such as a Grim Reeper and instructs the audience on what to do while they are playing the board game that comes with the VHS tape.

Second Idea

My second idea was to create a 5 minute atmospheric audio piece that immures the audience in a scenario, for example, an interrogation. I would do this by setting up microphones to capture all sounds in a 360 degree radius and having actors pretend that the microphone is a person so that it sounds like they are speaking to the audience. The inspiration for my idea came from a YouTube that explores the interrogation example I gave earlier.

Third Idea

My third idea was to make an interactive app for iPhones. This idea would be based off of the creepypasta "Lavender Town Syndrome" - which means that it will be a horror game.

In February 1996, there was a spike in suicides and illness in 7-12 year old's in Japan following the new release of the Pokémon games Pokêmon Red and Green. People have said that when the players reach the level called "Lavender Town", a high pitched frequency that is only heard by children between 7-12 (supposedly because their ears are sensitive). At least two-hundred children where reported to have committed suicide after playing this level. (Lavender Town Syndrome, 2009)

When the audio from Lavender Town was placed into a special software for analysing audio, images of the Pokémon named 'Unown' appear. This Pokémon is commonly known for being used to spell words depending on it appearance (each appearance corresponds with a letter of the alphabet). People have said that when viewing the footage that was captured in 2010 of the analysed audio that the Pokémon Unown spells out "LEAVE NOW".

After looking at the mobile app creators and software resources I would need to create this, it became more and more apparent to me that it would be a difficult and extensive task to complete - as well as this, I would have to spend money to buy these apps and I would be unable to afford this. As I am new to mobile app creating, I can not fully predict how long this product would take to finish as well as what skills I need to complete it - I barely know anything about programming and because of this, I feel that this idea would be unsuitable for me.

Fourth Idea

My fourth idea was to create a website that will not be influenced by a client. This website will be for my own purposes and will show my art and photography. As well as this, I will be able to promote my work through this website and if a client wanted to get in contact with me to discuss potential work then I will be able to respond and know that they have found my website. I will make this website with using Wix as this will allow me to have a pre-made professional template that will capture my audiences attention.

Proposal

FMP Pitch

The feedback that I got from my pitch was very useful in the creation of my website as it made me think more about freelancers and how they become successful in their creations than just my own success. Justin says in my feedback to look at two freelancers called Philip Bloom and Vincent Laforet, these are two freelancers that I would very much like to look at and hopefully implement aspects from their own websites into my own.

Reflection

By the end of this project, I would like to achieve a fully detailed and partly finished website. The reason why I say partly completed website is because I am planning on keeping it for future reference which means that it will be constantly on-going as I add more and more experience and information to it. I want to achieve at least four pages of information that will promote and engage my audience throughout their entire journey of my website. I want to be able to hold my audiences attention and hopefully get them to interact with me or ask me to do freelance work with them. I can achieve this by adding as much information to a professional website while coming across as entertaining, smart, down-to-earth and genuine.

  1. Your ideas are detailed and you have clearly outlined your aims in your project proposal, which is great! You could write a little about the feedback given from your pitch if you wanted to add to this
